I'm happy to announce that on Saturday 05 September, 2015 I will be visiting Holland America Line's Ryndam at Harwich International Port. Joining me on board for the visit will be our Non-Executive Director, Gavin. As some of you may be aware Ryndam has been in the Holland America Line fleet since 1994, but will be transferring to the P&O Cruises Australia fleet very soon. I was very keen to do all that I could to visit the ship before ending her time with Holland America Line. Thankfully Holland America Line so kindly accepted my request to visit the ship and present a drawing on board before the ship leaves the fleet. We are due to board the ship at 10:00 and will hopefully be meeting the Captain to present my drawing followed by a complete tour of the passenger areas on board. Remember to keep a look out for our ship visit review following our visit on board. ENDS

It doesn't seem long at all since I was on my last ship visit and already my next one if just a week away! On Friday 04 September, 2015 I will be visiting Costa Luminosa at Harwich International Port whilst the vessel is berthed there on a transit call. Joining me on board for the visit will be our Cruise Ambassador, Jordan Bailey. We're due to embark about 10:00 and then hopefully have enough time to explore most, if not all of the public areas on board. For the past week or so I have been working hard on a brand new drawing of Costa Luminosa, which I intend to present whilst on board. At present we do not know if the Captain will be available to accept it, but hope if not that another senior member of the crew will be able to do so. As always, following the ship visit we will be publishing a ship visit review, complete with plenty of photographs so be sure to look out for it. In the meantime you can keep up to date via our social media pages. ENDS

In fact, Hebridean Princess was only the second cruise ship to ever visit the port. I was joined aboard by our Non-Executive Director, Gavin, who unlike me had not visited the ship before. Upon arriving on the quayside we spotted the Captain, who at pretty much the same time spotted us and welcome us and then escorted us on board. Upon boarding the vessel, Gavin and I enjoyed a drink with Captain Richard Heaton in the Conservatory on the Promenade Deck. After chatting for a while, the Captain took us both on a guided tour of the ship. I had already seen most of the public areas on board the ship from my visit on board in August 2011, but since then the ship has been refurbished. Gavin who had not seen the ship before was pleasantly impressed. There's a real friendly family feeling on board! Our guided tour of the ship ended with us visiting the bridge, where I had the opportunity to officially present my brand new drawing of Hebridean Princess to the Captain. He seemed quite impressed with the drawing and mentioned about possibly finding a suitable location on board to display it. I'm happy to find a moment to put together this blog, to let you all know that this weekend on Saturday 15 August, 2015 I will be visiting the beautiful Hebridean Princess! Gavin will be joining me for the visit aboard whilst the ship is berthed at Chatham Docks. I visited the ship in August 2011 at Harwich International Port, but this will be Gavin's first time on board. The ship has also been refurbished since I last visited. Whilst on board we hope to meet with Captain Richard Heaton, who I met in 2011. I have taken the time to produce a brand new drawing of the ship which I will be presenting to the Captain. We're really looking forward to the visit and upon our return I will be putting together a new ship visit review of Hebridean Princess, so be sure to keep a look out for it! Firstly I would like to welcome you all aboard Cruise Cotterill, the brand new name for Dream Designs Colchester. I have had some great feedback from many of my lovely loyal followers and supporters, so hope that you like our new name too! So, why the change? I first set up the Dream Designs Colchester website in 2010, whilst I was still at school. The website initially showcased my somewhat amateur designs of my own ships. Since then I have put the designing side of things to rest and now solely focus on drawing existing ships. Obviously the quality of my drawings has improved considerably since then. The website now offers so much more and the old name simply did not portray what was on offer. |
Over the coming weeks and month myself and my team of wonderful volunteers and kind friends will be working hard to continue to improve the Cruise Cotterill website. Please stay with us and continue to support and follow our work.
On another note we have two new social media outlets which you can now follow us on. Please see the buttons below and be sure to check them out and share with your friends.
Happy cruising!
